A teller, minimal staging, and 60-90 minutes of local legends and true-crime-adjacent tales, often in a historic venue or by lantern light, spooky by suggestion rather than jump scares. It's genuinely all-ages at family sessions and darker at late shows, so match the session to your group. Arrive early for close seats; these shows land twice as hard in the front rows.

Expect to move, choose, and sometimes be addressed by name: immersive productions range from walk-at-your-own-pace haunted narratives to shows where small groups are separated. The listing always states the participation level, read it, and most offer a no-contact signal or spectator track if you ask. Wear shoes for standing 60-90 minutes, and arrive on time, since late entry often means forfeiting.

A pipe organ or live ensemble scoring a classic in real time turns a century-old film into the most atmospheric event of the season, often staged in historic theaters or churches that outcreep any haunted house. They're conversation-friendly dates, welcoming to teens and film nerds alike, and they sell out because they run once. Sit center for the sound, arrive early for the architecture.
