What is a visit to the Museum like?
Strike a power pose with Matilda, come face-to-face with Fantastic Mr. Fox, and discover Roald Dahl’s famous Writing Hut, the birthplace of your favourite characters. The Museum features three interactive galleries as well as a drop-in craft room. You are free to explore and come and go as you please on the day of your visit. They encourage adults and children to get stuck in and have a go in a family-friendly environment.
How long does a visit take?
They recommend allowing at least 90 minutes to explore the Museum, however many visitors stay longer!
Are dogs allowed at the Museum?
No dogs are allowed in the Museum, Shop, Filling-Station or courtyard at any time, except for assistance dogs.
Can I bring a picnic?
Yes, visitors are welcome to bring a picnic. Limited indoor and outdoor seating is available, but it can get full during busy times. A large park nearby (the Buryfield) is also an option for picnics.
