Parking
Free parking is available under the bridge in front of the Museum. City-metered and permit parking lots are available at no cost on weekends and legal holidays. Parking availability may be affected by events at Riverfront Park. For extended visits, all-day free parking is available at designated spots in downtown parkades: Chemeketa Parkade (300 Commercial St. NE), Liberty Square Parkade (365 Ferry St. SE), Marion Parkade (538 Marion St. NE), and Pringle Parkade (399 High St. SE - 3-hour free parking).
Accessibility
The first level of each historic house is accessible by wheelchair, including about half the exhibits. The Outdoor Discovery Area is accessible up to the Erector set climbing tower. Persons unable to access upstairs exhibits due to wheelchair accessibility will be admitted at half the regular admission rate. Strollers may be used for comfort of sleeping babies and can be stowed in the lobby.
