How long should I expect to spend at the museum?
The typical visitor spends 2–4 hours at the museum, but you are welcome to stay all day.
Where is the Exploratorium located and how do I get there?
We’re at Pier 15, which is on the Embarcadero at Green Street in San Francisco. You can find directions, information on public transportation, and parking options here. You can also call us at 415.528.4444 for additional help.
Is there a coat check or a place to store my belongings?
Small and large lockers are available for a fee for items you do not wish to carry! Indoor lockers (11.5 "w x 13 "h x 17.5" d) are available just past the Ticketing Desk. They cost $3 daily and accept credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. For larger items, outdoor lockers (23.5 "w x 29 "h x 23" d) are located outside the Information Desk. These are coin-operated, take quarters only, and are single-use.
How do I get tickets? Do I need to book them in advance?
Tickets are available at the museum or online. Entry is subject to availability and capacity. Tickets are valid only for the date you select, and they are nonrefundable.
