Santa Ana Halloween Movies, Theater, and Entertainment 2026

Learn the room before joining: Rocky Horror and designated quote-along or heckle screenings want your voice, while a regular horror showing wants silence even in October. The listing tells you, "interactive," "quote-along," "party screening" means join in; anything else means don't. At interactive shows, riff with the crowd's rhythm rather than over it, and never during another caller's beat.

A shadow cast acts the entire film live beneath the screen in costume, synced to the print, and it transforms the night from movie to performance. Screenings with an experienced cast are the full experience; film-only showings are quieter and cheaper. Listings say which you're getting. Halloween-weekend shadow-cast shows are the season's hottest ticket, so book those the week they post.

It's a party, not a movie: a shadow cast performs under the screen, the audience yells callback lines, and first-timers, "virgins," may be affably hazed in a pre-show ritual you can opt out of by telling a cast member. Dress up or don't, nobody's checking, but fishnets earn respect. Buy tickets ahead, arrive early, and surrender to the chaos.
