Camille Cooper: SHOWPIECE
Artist Camille Cooper transforms the Sun Porch into a lush insectarium featuring plants and insects contextual to the grounds of Wave Hill. Drawing inspiration from mid-20th-century horror films and entomological study, the exhibition displays fantastical insect puppets crafted from hormone replacement therapy packaging and trans ephemera. Visitors encounter a creepy-crawly installation that explores how gender-variant people are scrutinized and classified by society.
